In 2010, Silab developed Oxygeskin to overcome the lack of oxygen in the skin occurring during the aging process. This natural active ingredient revives complexion radiance by reinvigorating the skin oxygenation in conditions of chronological aging or digital pollution. The skin’s quality is thus improved and the healthy-glow effect restored, according to the company. Now, in the era of digital overconsumption, Silab brings new efficacy data highlighting the capacity of Oxygeskin to fight skin damage induced by blue light. In conditions of chronological aging or digital pollution, it restores the skin’s adaptive capacity to overcome the hypoxic stress by boosting the HIF-1α oxygen sensor. In an ultra-connected environment, Oxygeskin also limits the appearance of free radicals (due to oxidative stress) and damage to the matrix caused by repeated exposure to digital pollution. This natural active ingredient, rich in arabinogalactans from the garden nasturtium, comes from a French supply chain (INCI name: Tropaeolum majus flower/leaf/stem extract). This plant is primarily grown for its ornamental flowers. In compliance with its supply charter, Silab ensures the quality and traceability of its raw material with a constant objective of preserving plant heritage and biodiversity. It is a patented active ingredient available in aqueous solution (recommended amount: 1 to 3%) and compliant with global cosmetic regulations (Europe, US, Japan and China). Silab has focused on the benefits of Oxygeskin in a digital pollution background. Tested on the skin of Caucasian and Asian volunteers exposed chronically to digital pollution for at least 10 years, Oxygeskin formulated at 2.5% in an emulsion reinforces the skin barrier by decreasing the transepidermal water loss by 11.5%; smooths the microrelief by reducing the mean stage of crow’s feet wrinkles by 16.4%; and improves the uniformity of the skin by 28.9%, according to Silab.
